Blog #4: Home-schooled Summer

Praying Mantis

Guys, my favorite YouTuber, Matthias, is now my pet. I know, crazy right! Well, It's not really him, but my new pet is named after him, but the pet is a girl... and well.... she's a praying mantis. Yeah, I know, I know I'm weird. 

So, my dad was watering the plants and then he came back inside and told me to come quickly outside. There was a 2" long mantis sitting on the bush. I got really excited and my dad caught her in  container. 

He told me we could keep it as a school project. I am used to doing things like this in the summer, because I was home-schooled K-2, and 4-5 grade.  This last school year was my first year of real public school. Anyway, I researched on the computer how to take care of a praying mantis and how to make it's habitat. Once I got a jar from the cabinet, I put in the leaves, sticks, etc. Then I put Matthias in, which took forever by the way.

After telling basically everyone I know about Matthias, one of the people I told gave me a nickname for my mantis: Matty. That it sounds more like a girls name. So now my dad and I just call her Matty instead of Matthias.

Because Matty is in a jar, my dad and I are going to get a terrarium as soon as possible so that she has room to molt. I will maybe post a video of her if she is still alive when I have a camera.

Blog #3: Love Has Found Me

Guys, I have found love... or love has found me I'm not sure which. His name is Hayden, he has black hair and brown eyes. I'll tell you how we met and how he told me he liked me.

This last school year was my first year of public school, and after school I would, and still do, go to an after school teen hangout center called "Rock Solid Teen Center". That is were I met Hayden. He and I became good friends over the school year. 

When the last day of school came, we gave each other our emails. We talked on "Google Hangouts" and through email and stuff. And then, on June 19th, 2015 he emailed me this: So over the last month and a half of hanging out with you at rocksolid I really started to like you...
I was just wondering if you felt the same way, no matter what you say things won't be weird between us. As long as we don't make it weird.
If you say yes let's wait 3 days to tell everyone.
If no forget I ever said it

Don't worry though, we have known each other for more than 1 /1/2 of a month. But I thought it was so cute how he sent this! This is what I replied back to him: wow. i was thinking about asking u if u liked me too. i have really become fond of being around u. i wud love to be ur girlfriend but i'm not allowed to date right now... :( since we will b going to the same high school, we can date then. for now we can just be friends. let's just keep this a secret for now until we're actually dating. i.... i love u. like really love u.

thank you for sharing how u feel about me, because i feel the same way 

Anyway, we're very happy now. And we love each other a lot even though we can't date yet and only see each other through web-cam. Until the next school year that is.

Blog #2: Confrontation

Okay, I know it's been awhile but I think it's time I tell you a story, so sit back relax and you might want to grab a snack–this might take a while. 

This year was my first year of being in public school and my first friend there was a girl named Alexis Lynch. Her and I had a lot in common–we liked drawing, wolves, art...etc. But this friendship didn't last a long time. So about 2 1/2 months ago I noticed that Alexis was being mean. I talked to my mom about this and she told to confront her about it. I didn't get a good chance to do this, but when i did get the chance this is what happened: I told her that I didn't want to be her friend if she was going to be mean and call people names. By this point she was very upset and walked away. She didn't talk to me for the rest of the day. 

My Healing Heart

She didn't come to school the next day. And then after that i had gotten sick and didn't get back to school until that next monday. When she saw me, she wasn't mad, in fact she pretended like nothing happened. this went on for the rest of the week. Until she asked me why I wasn't hanging out with her as much. I tried to confront her again, and her reaction was the same as before. After this I started sitting with some casual friends that are now my best friends. She became friends with another girl that had a similar personality.

Alexis never really talked to me once she realized I didn't want to be her friend anymore, and when she did it would be in either a snobby or yelling tone. When we passed each other in the hall, she would give the stink-eye. I would always try my hardest to either not say anything, and if I did try to make it nice. But it didn't always happen to be nice, and I regret a lot of what I said about her, even if it was true.

Alexis and I had two friends that sat with us at lunch, Matthew and Austin. They were in 5th grade, a grade under my grade, when I confronted Alexis. A couple of days After I had started sitting somewhere else, Austin came up to me and asked why I wasn't sitting with them any more. I simply told the truth and said I wasn't friends with Alexis anymore. He just said oh and walked away.

Austin must have told Alexis because she was very mad. It was Thursday, on Wednesdays and Thursdays, for some reason, we went to a different class before second elective, and I sat next to her in this class. The teacher was telling us how to find the average of mechanical advantage or something. When my teacher was done showing us, he told us to find the mechanical advantage of our Rube Goldberg machine we made a while ago. But, like most of the kids I'm guessing, I couldn't remember what the numbers were. So, instead I rewrote how to find the mechanical advantage and Alexis yells to me: "Your Numbers!". I just ignored her and kept doing what I was doing. She must have thought I heard Mr. Strickland wrong or something.

I think I may have gotten depressed because not only was I randomly crying about it at home but I also kinda just wanted to be left alone in memories. I had taken a test to see if I was depressed, I don't know how accurate it was but it said i was slightly depressed. I had been hurt because Alexis didn't want to be my friend anymore. And I don't know, maybe she was going through the same thing.

So, after three and a half months of putting up with stink eyes from Alexis, I finally decided to let it go. And I guess so did she. What I mean is Alexis was nice to me. Here I'll tell you what happened: Me and Alexis both came in late and when she saw me she casually said "Hi" I said "Hey" back. And I'm glad I know now that she has forgiven me.

Question of the Week: Which dog breed is better, german shepherd dog or golden retriever dog?
My Answer: I personally like both dogs, but having a dog that is part german shepherd makes the german shepherd my favorite breed of dog.

Blog #1: Hello, Hello, Hello!

Hello, my name is Marissa, but most of my friends call me Mario. This is my official blog spot on Blogger. I had started another one but it wouldn't let me post another blog. So, without further ado... I give you my book blog. 

Since this is my first blog, let me tell you a bit about myself. I am 12 years young and I am (not that you need to know) 75% girly girl and 25% tom boy. I like anything literary (books, blogs, magazines, etc.), hanging out with friends, YouTube/movies, reading, and writing. As you can probably tell, I'm a book worm. BOOKS BOOKS BOOKS BOOKS!!! WORDS WORDS WORDS!!!

Writing is one of my favorite literary things to do. As a matter of fact, i'm writing a book right now. It's called Secret of the Mask. Rose's father is supposedly dead reported by the military camp, she runs away to cry about this loss and remember her farther. On the edge of a ravine, she cried. Then was suddenly hanging onto the cliff for dear life and was then saved by a man in a mask. This fiction story tells the journey that Rose takes to find the identity of this man in the black mask. She is faced with struggles along the road and heart breaking moments, where dreams tell her where to go and what to may happen.
